Elk Run Dig Site 1999-2006

Location: 12187 Elk Run Road, Midland
(near intersection of Elk Run Road and Midland Road)

The museum was built to show an excavated segment of the 1750’s Elk Run Anglican Church building foundation.

Additional displays inside the museum include:
•  special artifacts from the Manahoac Indian tribe which occupied the area before European settlers
• information on the relationship of the church with the nearby Germantown settlement
• highlights of the Anglican Church in colonial Virginia
• information about Fauquier’s own Chief Justice John Marshall
• artifacts recovered from the seven-year archaeological dig of the site.
